Product Description

The Breville BES920XL Dual Boiler offers commercial features and performance, in a domestic footprint. Espresso perfection requires precision temperature and pressure control, consistently, every time. At the heart of this machine is its dual stainless steel boiler heating system. The espresso boiler, for the espresso shot, is PID temperature controlled, while a separate steam boiler offers instant and powerful steam on demand. So you can extract your shot at the right temperature, delivering optimal flavor, while simultaneously steaming your milk to cafe quality. What's more, there is another element in the group head, ensuring the entire system maintains a consistent temperature. The Dual Boiler also features an Over Pressure Valve (OPV) which limits the maximum pressure throughout the extraction, preventing bitter flavors in the shot. It also offers a true low pressure pre-infusion, which gradually increases the pressure to gently expand the grinds for an even extraction. But there's much more to this machine for the coffee geek. Brew temperature and pre-infusion pressure and duration are all programmable. At the same time we've kept it simple with user-friendly features. An optional Auto Start setting preheats the machine at a programmed time; a top-fill 84 oz. (2.5L) water tank ensures easy access; and the dedicated hot water outlet makes it faster to preheat cups and prepare an Americano. There is also a shot clock and pressure gauge to help you improve your barista skills over time. The new Dual Boiler now includes a descaling function for cleaning at home, a Razor Dosing Tool for precision dosing and consistent extraction, plus a 2 year limited warranty. All you'll need are some freshly ground beans and a bit of practice to rival the best cafe.

Question:
Does it fit into the travel luggage which has the sizes 28 * 18*13?
Answer:
Yes if you take a chainsaw and cut 2" from one end. The reason Amazon posts Product Details on it's site is so people don't ask stupid questions such as this. Should you wish to know someone's opinion on the quality of the coffee, ease of use etc post here.

Question:
If the rear of the machine abuts a wall, can I remove the water tank by lifting it vertically (like the 840 or 870), or must it be moved rearward?

Answer:
It does have to be removed from the back of the machine. But the tank is also conveniently refillable on the top in the front. There's a door that springs open in order to poor water in. That's how I always refill mine. Watch the video review on seattlecoffeegear.com to see how it's done.

Question:
Volume? How many shots is this machine rated to produce per day? Can we expect it to pull 50 shots a day for a few years?
Answer:
The BES920XL Dual Boiler™ is not rated or designed for commercial use. The expected shot volume per day is variable depending on the type of shot pulled.

This is currently the best bang for your buck you can get in the espresso market. It's a star performer dual boiler that costs half as much as machines with similar features. You get an insane amount of temperature control in addition to lots of other great ergonomic features.

My ONLY criticism it that the included tamper is way too lightweight and small. The magnetic design is ingenious and convenient but it hurt my hand to use. I recently upgraded to the Espro calibrated tamper and am very happy with the upgrade.

I haven't owned a lot of espresso machines (this was my second), but I did a ton of research before purchasing this machine. No, it's not as "pretty" as some of the espresso machines on the market, but it does everything it claims to do and does it perfectly. Temperature control is spot on. Milk frothing is great. Adjustability is unmatched by any machine in this price range. I don't believe there is a better value espresso machine on the market. You would need to spend well in excess of $2k to match the features in this machine. It's obvious the design team didn't do their homework.

We use this everyday to make 6-8 shots of coffee. Best we've ever had at home. Better than almost all coffee shops. Consistent - perfect crema. You have to work at the beginning to get the right grind and shot time, but once you do, it's perfection.
