We had a Sharp upright vacuum that had served us well for over 15 years, but was toward the end of its life cycle so we started shopping around. We had planned on getting a new upright plus replacing our super noisy canister vac for doing stairs and such. After doing a lot of research, we came to the epiphany that a canister vac with a powered head could do both jobs. The Miele vacuums all had glowing reviews so we took the plunge and ordered the C3 Marin. Right out of the box, the oooohhh! factor was high. This is an extremely well-engineered and well-built product. The operating sound level is so low compared to traditional vacuums and one of the first things you will appreciate. It works extremely well on hardwood floors as well as carpeting. Tool changing is a breeze and the onboard storage compartment for accessories is equally as cool. Another great feature is the retractable cord...so easy to use and makes storage so much simpler. All-in-all, I cannot say enough about this vacuum. Vacuuming is far less a chore with this machine and I know we will have it for many years. I think that if you get over the initial sticker shock and think of it as an investment in a high-quality tool that will make your life easier, you will choose this vacuum...love it!!!

Just made the switch from a Dyson Animal upright to this vacuum and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!! So quiet compared to the Dyson it is unreal! I have multiple pets and this vacuum works FANTASTIC when it comes to picking up their hair. I love that there are many different settings on this vacuum, very helpful on the many different surfaces that I am cleaning. The canister is light and VERY easy to maneuver. Love the pivoting head on both the carpet and floor attachments. My old Dyson feels like a bit of a clunker now in comparison! TOTALLY worth the money!

Love! I was replacing a central VAC and really wanted a hand control. This is better than my central VAC. This glides smoothly across my hardwood floors, the wheels are a nice material. I do not feel they are scratching the floor up. Vacuumes the carpet great too! I am looking forward to cleaning my car next. Very happy with the purchase.

Great vacuum cleaner. A bit expensive, but the quality is high.

This thing is just plain awesome. Buy a less expensive canister vacuum if must but there's no comparison

Works like a charm. I will never go cheap on a vacuum again.

Negative
I received this Vacuum as a gift. Having significant dust allergies I was excited to have a vacuum with a "Sealed HEPA" system. Sadly the vacuum emitted stinky air which triggered my allergies just as bad as any cheap run of the mill vacuum. Huge disappointment for me but since it was a gift I was not going to send it back, and have resorted to wearing a N99 dust mask when vacuuming as I have with prior cheap vacuums. When it came time to change the bag for the first time I decided to inspect the socalled HEPA filter which came installed with this vacuum. Upon removal of the filter it became apparent that the gasket was crushed in two place, allowing unfiltered air to bypass the filter. This shows a complete lack of quality control during the factory assembly process which is completely unacceptable for a $1000+ vacuum.
